Triangle United gear up for crucial PSL survival clash against MWOS

Story by Gay Matambo

THE fight to avoid relegation in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) is intensifying, with nine teams still at risk as the season approaches its final stages.

Among them, Triangle United will face MWOS at Ngoni Stadium this Saturday, hoping to continue their steady climb and secure safety in the top flight.

The Sugar Sugar Boys’ future in the Premier Soccer League will be determined in the next few weeks, as the unpredictable battle to stay afloat gains momentum.

The Lowveld-based side are 13th on the PSL table with 34 points alongside Green Fuel, Manica Diamonds and Dynamos, who are just below on goal difference.

With matches running out, dropping points could be fatal for Triangle.

The Sugar Boys are, however, walking with a spring in their step after dumping MWOS out of the Chibuku Super Cup last weekend and know all too well that they will be up for revenge.

“We are doing well and we have made it to the Chibuku Cup Finals, but now we are focusing on making sure we avoid the chop. The journey has not been easy; it is indeed tight, but the boys are well prepared, as you can see, we are training, and we will do our best to be safe. The battle is on, and we are geared and excited to fight. We have no injuries, the team is in good shape, and I think we are ready for that,” said Triangle United FC Head Coach, Genesis Mangombe.

Three more teams will exit the PSL in the coming weeks, with Kwekwe United already relegated.
