THE Heritage Village in Harare is poised to come alive this Saturday evening, as it plays host to the Anti-Sanctions Music Gala, part of the 2025 SADC Anti-Sanctions Day commemorations.
A magical line-up of celebrated local artists is billed to perform, including Andy Muridzo, Agatha Murudzwa, Chief Hwenje, Shantel Sithole, Sasha Madube, Cello Culture, Jah Master, Clemence Magwaza, Jah Signal, the ZRP Band, Simon Mutambi, Iyasa, Sandra Ndebele, Khonan’ale, Cynthia Mare, and the Mbare Chimurenga Choir, among others.
This year’s SADC Anti-Sanctions Day is running under the theme: “Inclusive Development through Heritage-based Innovation and Industrialisation, in a Multilateral World.”
Zimbabwe has since 2001 been under illegal economic sanctions imposed by the USA, European Union, Australia, Britain, New Zealand, and Canada among others.
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) designated 25 October as a day for solidarity against sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe over 20 years ago.
