THE Government and its development partners are working on the construction of two learning blocks at Tangle Range Primary School in Shurugwi District, a development set to enhance access to quality education.
Located deep in remote areas of Shurugwi District, the school is now set for transformation after the government and private partners pledged to upgrade the institution, starting with the construction of two new learning blocks.
Building materials have already been delivered at the school.
“I want to thank the government through our honourable MP for coming on board and helping our community with this noble initiative. This is commendable and we are really delighted as this will improve our children’s learning standards,” a community member said.
“We are happy that the Second Republic is walking the talk, and it’s leaving no one and no place behind in its developmental programmes. This is one of its promises, and we are really grateful for this,” noted another.
Shurugwi North legislator, Honourable Joseph Mpasi, welcomed the development as a clear demonstration of the government’s efforts to provide quality education to rural communities.
“I think this programme will play a key role in reducing educational gaps between rural and urban folks. I want to thank the Second Republic for making such great efforts in changing the education sector. The Second Republic has done a lot in the education sector through the 5.0 model. We are building labs and giving computers to schools in the constituency,” he said.
Under the National Development Strategy One (NDS1), the government is prioritising infrastructure development including construction and upgrading of schools to enhance access to education across the country.
