THE 2015 Premier Soccer League champions Chicken Inn are targeting to convert their draws into wins when they clash with Kwekwe United this Sunday.
After ten rounds of matches, the former champions found themselves perched on position 12, with one win, six draws and three losses and the players believe it is high time they step up and restore the Gamecocks’ lost pride.
Chicken Inn have struggled upfront following the absence of goal poacher Brian Muza who is nursing a groin injury.
“We must step up as players ,we have had team talk to work hard and we need to change our position on the log table,” defender, Mpumelelo Bhebhe said.
“It is a fact we must grind a win and restore confidence in the boys .we have been pushing each other since scoring is a collective effort,” Forward, George Majika said.
Chicken Inn head coach Joey Antipas is confident that his charges will re-invent a striker to solve their goal scoring woes.
“We plan to win every game but such is football at times results become elusive. We have a youthful team and what we need to do is to re-invent a striker to solve our scoring problems. We remain optimistic we will strike the right chord,” he said.
The Gamecocks have scored three times and conceded five times this season.
