FC Platinum Coach Norman Mapeza says his charges must find a way of dealing with league heavyweights ahead of their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie against Highlanders FC at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
The team drew last week in a crucial match at home against fellow Platinum miners Ngezi Platinum Stars.
With pressure firmly on FC Platinum to halt their perennial rivals Highlanders in its backyard, the former champions will need to be at their absolute best and remain in the race for the prestigious gong.
According to FC Platinum head coach Norman Mapeza, Sunday’s encounter is the real test of character in their quest to lift their 5th title.
“They are posting good results and it means they are a very good side. So, we need to be well-prepared for this team and make sure they do not find us wanting especially on the fast breaks, the counter-attacks; and also their transition is perfect,” he said.
In their previous six encounters, FC Platinum have managed to outwit the Bulawayo family four times, drawing once, and thus leaving Pure Platinum Play as Sunday’s favourites.
