THE Zimbabwe national rugby team, the Sables, are using their tour of South Korea to prepare for the upcoming Rugby Africa Cup in Uganda.
The team’s exposure to top-level competition in South Korea has been further enhanced by the inclusion of Brendon Mudzekenyedzi and Dylan Utete in the match-day squad for Okman Rugby Club, a rising force in the Korea Super Rugby League.
Mudzekenyedzi made his debut as a winger, while Utete provided support from the back row as a replacement, in a match against reigning champions, Kepcoin.
As the Sables prepare to face the best on the continent at the Rugby Africa Cup in Uganda between July 20 and 28, they will be looking to build on the momentum gained from their South Korea tour.
The team has been drawn against Morocco, Kenya, and Uganda in the Africa Cup, and will be seeking to defend the title, which they won last year, and secure a spot at the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
