Zimbabwe’s Lady Chevrons succumbed to their second defeat by hosts Namibia at the ongoing Capricorn Eagles Tri-Series after a five-wicket loss at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek this Wednesday.
The Lady Chevrons’ defeat marks their third consecutive loss in the Capricorn Eagles Tri-Series after previous defeats to Namibia and UAE.
The Lady Chevrons batted first, posting a total of 133 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
Chipo Mugeri Tiripano and Modester Mupachikwa top-scored with 31 runs each.
The target ended up looking easy for Namibia, who crossed the line in the 19th over with 3 balls to spare, to hand Zimbabwe a 5-wicket defeat.
Beloved Biza and Passionate Munorwei were the pick of the Zimbabwean bowlers, taking a total of five wickets for 34 runs.
Despite the disappointing loss, the Lady Chevrons will look to bounce back and secure consolation points when they face UAE and Namibia again on Thursday and Friday in the third round.
