THE Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has once again been plunged into mourning after the death of Television producer Julius Chirume who died Thursday afternoon in Harare.

Workmates have been left in shock after Chrume’s death notice was received less than an hour following the burial of another veteran journalist Hector Murombedzi who died on Monday.

“Truly speaking, we are still not believing what is going on. I have no much words to say except to say rest in peace, Julius,” said a workmate, Adiola Chiyangwa.

Another workmate, Miriam Jani added, “ZBC has been left with a gape which is difficult to fill. Julius was a hardworking guy, humble and multi-talented.”

Chirume will be laid to rest at his rural home in Chihota this Saturday.

“As the Chirume family, we have lost a good child, we are saddened by the untimely death of Julius. Julius’s body will be ferried to his rural home in Chihota today awaiting the burial this Saturday,” said a family representative, Mrs Muad Chirume.

Chirume joined ZBC in 2009 as a sports intern before becoming a producer in the Kidznet section of Television production until his death.

Mourners are gathered at House Number 6546, Phase 2, Dzivarasekwa Extension in Harare.
