ZIMBABWE’s leading referee Brighton Chimene has earned further continental recognition after receiving two key appointments from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
According to the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), Chimene will officiate the CAF Confederation Cup clash between CR Belouizdad and Al-Masry SC in Algeria on March 21.
He has also been appointed Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the CAF Champions League match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Stade Malien scheduled for March 13 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.
ZIFA says the appointments underline Chimene’s growing reputation as one of Zimbabwe’s top referees, with his performances continuing to attract confidence from CAF for high-profile continental fixtures.
