ZIMBABWE will this Wednesday join 34 other African nations in the draw for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games women’s football qualifiers, as the race for continental slots gathers momentum.
The draw will be conducted at the Confederation of African Football headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, at 2PM Zimbabwean time.
A total of five qualifying rounds will determine the two teams that will represent Africa at the 2028 Olympic Games.
Regional heavyweights, including Nigeria and Zambia who featured at the 2024 Olympic Games, are among the contenders, alongside South Africa, Morocco, Cameroon and Malawi.
Zimbabwe’s Mighty Warriors will be seeking a return to the global stage, having last appeared at the Olympic Games during the Rio 2016 edition.
