Zim handball teams off to flying start in Zone Six Championships

ZIMBABWE’S handball teams have made a commanding start at the Zone Six Championships in Lusaka, Zambia, registering emphatic victories in their opening matches.

The Under-18 side delivered a dominant performance, thrashing Malawi 59-20, while the Under-20 team secured a convincing 33-15 win over South Africa.

The strong results signal Zimbabwe’s intent as the teams continue their campaign in the regional competition.

Attention now shifts to the next round of fixtures, with the Under-18 team set to face Eswatini, while the Under-20 side takes on Namibia this Wednesday. Both matches are scheduled for 9am.

In the Under-18 category, Zimbabwe is competing in Group B alongside South Africa, Malawi and Eswatini.

The Under-20 team is in Group A, which features Lesotho, South Africa and Namibia.
