THE European Union (EU) has removed Zimbabwe Defence Industries (ZDI) from its list of sanctioned entities but has maintained its arms embargo on the country.
In a statement this Tuesday, the EU announced the adjustment of its restrictive measures on Zimbabwe until February 2026 while delisting the remaining entity Zimbabwe Defence Industries.
However, the EU further stated that restrictions on arms and equipment will remain in place, over 20 years after they were imposed in 2002.
Zimbabwe continues to call for the unconditional and complete removal of the illegal embargo that has affected the country’s development for more than two decades.
