Dynamos held by Bulawayo Chiefs as winless run continues

DYNAMOS’ difficult run continued after the Harare giants were held to a goalless draw by Bulawayo Chiefs in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 20 encounter at Rufaro Stadium this Sunday.

Despite creating several chances, Dynamos failed to find the breakthrough, settling for a point, a result that extends their frustrating spell in the league. The draw adds to the club’s recent struggles as they continue their search for improved form.

Dynamos endured another frustrating afternoon at home under the guidance of team manager Ronald Sibanda, who took charge following the suspension of head coach Genesis Mangombe and his assistant.

The Glamour Boys, a club that has often found itself at the centre of controversy in recent weeks, were watched by the rumoured incoming Technical Director from the stands as he awaits the completion of his work permit.

However, it was the action on the pitch that will concern the club’s faithful the most.

Dynamos lacked creativity, urgency and attacking intent throughout the contest, producing a flat and uninspiring performance that rarely troubled a disciplined Bulawayo Chiefs defence.

Despite enjoying spells of possession, the Harare giants struggled to carve out clear-cut chances, while Bulawayo Chiefs remained organised at the back and comfortably earned a share of the spoils.

The stalemate saw Dynamos slip to seventh place on the log standings with 31 points, further losing ground on the leading pack, while Bulawayo Chiefs remained 12th with 21 points.

Elsewhere, AGAMA gave their survival hopes a timely boost after edging in-form Herentals 1-0 at Wadzanayi Stadium.
