THE ZANU PF Mashonaland East Province convened its first Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting of the year in Marondera, with a strong focus on implementing conference resolutions, preparations for National Youth Day and strengthening party structures.
The PCC meeting, held this Sunday, set the tone for party programmes in 2026. Implementation of resolutions from the Mutare Conference featured prominently on the agenda, as Provincial Chairperson Honourable Daniel Garwe urged party members to remain united and offer unwavering support to the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
In an interview after the meeting, Cde Garwe said the implementation of resolution number one is high on the government agenda, as he highlighted key issues that were under discussion during the PCC meeting.
“Today, we had a theme on love, unity, and forgiveness in order to strengthen our party. We want to make our president proud as we want the province to be united. The issue of conference resolutions was a major area of discussion as they are being implemented by the party and government. In my ministry, we have resolutions that we are implementing; the Ministry of Justice is implementing resolutions under its purview, with all ministries implementing the conference resolutions.
“Resolution Number One is here to stay, and we are implementing it. We are anticipating that when cabinet seats, the issue will be under discussion.We. We need to conclude the issue. We are hosting the youth day on February 21, and we are meeting this Friday at Igava to track progress on the preparations for the big event. We will mobilise more people to attend the event,” he said.
Politburo member, Cde Mike Bimha, says loyalty to the party and the President is key to building a united and stronger party.
“We need to make our party stronger, and loyalty is a key ingredient to achieve that. Loyalty is the foundation of unity, and we need to be loyal to the President and the party. We also want to support the successful hosting of the National Youth Day commemorations,” he said.
Meanwhile, the provincial leadership said preparations are also underway for the launch of campaigns ahead of the Chikomba Ward 4 and Ward 7 council by-elections, scheduled for February 7 and 14, as the party seeks to consolidate its electoral footprint in the area.
