HARARE-THE ruling party is gearing up for the forthcoming by-elections in Gutu East and Insiza North, with campaigns in full throttle, scheduled for June 14.

Campaign activities have intensified in both constituencies as the party rallies its supporters and canvasses for votes.

ZANU PF Secretary General, Dr Obert Mpofu, expressed confidence that the party would continue its strong electoral performance, citing previous by-elections where ZANU PF achieved a clean sweep.

“Our politics has evolved significantly. We have won all the recent by-elections through fair campaigning and fair mobilisation. The President does not impose his will on the people, instead, he encourages consultative and team-oriented leadership grounded in constitutionalism,” Dr Mpofu said.

The Insiza North constituency will see a four-way contest between: Cde Delani Moyo (ZANU PF), Mr Thabani Mlotshwa (ZAPU), Mr Lesley Dube (Independent), and Mr Mbongeni Moyo (Zimbabwe National Revival Party).

In Gutu East, three candidates will compete for the seat: Cde Zvarevashe Masvingise (ZANU PF), Mr Gift Gonese (Independent), and Mr Zivanai Nzvenga (National Constitutional Assembly – NCA).

The by-elections are expected to be fiercely contested, as political parties vie for increased representation in the National Assembly.

ZANU PF has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding peaceful, transparent, and people-driven electoral processes.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has since confirmed that all electoral logistics are in place for the 14th polls next month.
