Story by Abigirl Tembo, Health Editor

VICE President General (Retired) Dr Constantino Chiwenga has arrived in India to participate in the 19th India-Africa Business Conclave, a premier platform for fostering economic cooperation between India and African nations.

The conclave, which brings together business leaders, policymakers and government officials from India and Africa, aims to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties between the two regions.

The India-Africa Business Conclave is organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with the government of India. It has been held annually since 2005.

The conclave provides a unique opportunity for African countries to showcase their economic potential and attract Indian investments, while also enabling Indian businesses to explore new markets and partnerships in Africa.

Zimbabwe’s participation in the conclave is part of its efforts to expand its economic cooperation with India, a key player in the global economy.

The country is seeking to leverage India’s expertise and investment in areas such as agriculture, mining and infrastructure development, among others.

Vice President Chiwenga is accompanied by the Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr Douglas Mombeshora, senior officials from various government departments as well as business players from the private sector.
