MEMBERS of Vapostori4ED have expressed support for the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill (CAB3), saying they believe the proposed changes will help sustain the country’s development trajectory and contribute to the attainment of Vision 2030.

The group gathered in Harare this week to pray for peaceful and constructive parliamentary deliberations as legislators continue debating the proposed constitutional amendments before a vote is taken.

The ongoing debate on CAB3 has generated significant public interest, with various stakeholders closely following discussions in Parliament.

Gwasarira Chairperson for Vapostori4ED, Madzibaba Moses said members were praying for national leaders and Parliament as the legislative process unfolds.

“We are praying for Parliament and for our leaders. Many of us support CAB3 because we want the development projects to continue without disruption. Our church teaches us to pray for those in authority,” he said.

Johane Masowe Chishanu Guruve leader, Madzibaba Luxod Mutova said members of his congregation had been given an opportunity to discuss the proposed amendments and express their views.

“We gave our members space to pray and share their views on Constitutional Amendment 2 Bill, and they professed that CAB 3 will support Vision 2030. We want the president to continue with the development process,” he said.
Johane Masowe Chishanu Mt Darwin leader, Madzibaba Ringson Chinyere, said the Apostolic community appreciated the prevailing environment for religious freedom and development.
“We thank our president for creating a conducive environment for freedom of worship and national development. As the Apostolic sect, we support CAB 3. We therefore pray that as parliamentarians deliberate on the bill, they put into consideration the wishes of the people,” he said.
Parliament is expected to vote on the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill once debate concludes. The proposed legislation requires a two-thirds majority in both the National Assembly and the Senate to pass.
