THE United Kingdom has confirmed its participation at this year’s Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), scheduled for next month in Bulawayo, signalling continued engagement and growing interest in Zimbabwe’s trade and investment landscape.
The development comes as Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom seek to deepen economic ties, with a focus on expanding trade, investment and business partnerships under the Government’s “Zimbabwe is Open for Business” policy framework.
British participation at the 2026 edition of ZITF is expected to provide a platform for companies to explore opportunities across key sectors of the economy.
“We are taking part in this year’s trade fair. Remember, the United Kingdom is also focusing on more trade relations with Zimbabwe, so this will give us that platform for us to see what is available on local opportunities,” UK Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Pete Vowles said.
The local business community has expressed interest in working with United Kingdom based companies.
“We are ready to work with the United Kingdom in finding each other on viable projects, the UK is and still remains a dominant player in the country’s trade development agenda so indeed this confirmation by the United Kingdom is very important because as business we are also looking forward to work with them,” former president of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce, Mr Mike Kamungeremu added.
Zimbabwe is also expected to benefit from expanding export opportunities to the United Kingdom, particularly in horticulture, where demand continues to grow.
The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair remains one of the region’s premier trade exhibitions, bringing together local and international exhibitors to showcase products, services and investment prospects.
