UNITED States President Donald Trump’s popularity ticked slightly lower in recent weeks as Americans expressed worry about the health of the U.S. economy and the Republican’s ability to contain rising prices.
According to a new poll by Reuters done last week, 41 percent of respondents approved of Trump’s performance as President, down from 42 percent in earlier polls.
Polls this year have persistently shown that Americans view political extremism as the country’s biggest problem, particularly after the killing of activist Charlie Kirk.
Ratings of the U.S. President come as he delivered a combative speech to the U.N. General Assembly that levelled scathing criticism on world leaders.
The 56-minute speech was a rebuke to the world body, and leaders gave him polite applause when he exited the chamber.
