Takashinga lose to Uganda

TAKASHINGA Cricket Club slumped to a second successive defeat at the hands of visiting Uganda national team after going down by six wickets in a T20 encounter in Highfield.

Uganda drew first blood after edging Takashinga by two runs in the first match this Sunday.

Going into the second match of the series, Uganda led by Brian Mark Masaba won the toss and elected to field.

Needing a victory to restore parity the hosts posted a below par 123 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Tinashe Kamunhukamwe topped the score board for his side with 30 runs as Uganda’s Bilal Hassun stole the show after grabbing four wickets for 18 runs.
In response Uganda made light work of their power play as they reached the target in the 16th over.

They lost only four wickets to leave Takashinga at the brink of conceding the series.

The two sides meet again this Wednesday with the East Africans leading two-nil in the four-match series.

The series is part of Uganda’s preparations for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers which get underway on 20th of this month United States and West Indies.
