The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCA) Conference has officially commenced at the Harare International Conference Centre, with delegates expressing optimism for productive deliberations on regional wildlife conservation.
Scheduled to run until May 23, the conference aims to strengthen political commitment among SADC member states and facilitate the mobilisation of investment towards the sustainable management of wildlife resources.
A key highlight of the gathering will be the Heads of State Summit, where regional leaders are expected to evaluate lessons learned, address prevailing challenges, and chart the way forward under the newly approved SADC TFCA Programme, which covers the period from 2023 to 2033.
