Story by John Nhandara

AIR Zimbabwe has completed its inaugural direct flight between Harare and London after its Airbus landed at Gatwick Airport on Thursday.

The aircraft departed Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on Wednesday night, marking the resumption of the national carrier’s direct Harare-London route.

A welcome dinner is scheduled for Thursday evening at the Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch, where the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Honourable Felix Mhona, will be the guest of honour.

The event will bring together aviation stakeholders and members of the diplomatic community to mark the return of the route.

Air Zimbabwe’s Harare-London service will operate three times a week, with flights departing Harare on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
