Sables embark on demanding Nations Cup campaign in United States

THE Zimbabwe Sables begin their World Rugby Nations Cup campaign on Saturday with a challenging opening fixture against Tonga at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado.

The tournament represents the Sables’ most significant overseas assignment in recent years, with coach Pieter Benade’s side set to face Tonga, the United States and Canada over three consecutive weekends.

Zimbabwe open their campaign against a formidable Tonga side, renowned for its physical brand of rugby and a proud international pedigree.

The Sables will be looking to make a positive start as they seek to build momentum in a competition that offers a stern test of their progress on the international stage.

Following the Tonga encounter, Zimbabwe will face the United States on 11 July before concluding their Nations Cup campaign against Canada on 18 July.
