THE Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe says it has no intention of swooping on safe deposit boxes of private businesses and individuals as reported in a local daily newspaper.
In a statement released this Wednesday, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Dr John Mushayavanhu said the Central bank respects property rights.
During the Monetary Policy Statement released in February 2025, the Central Bank chief raised concerns over the abuse of safe deposit boxes and underground banking systems and urged businesses and individuals to take advantage of attractive interest rates on savings and time deposits.
