SOUTH African President Cyril Ramaphosa has sent his condolences to Zimbabwe after a bus crash which killed over 40 people near Louis Trichardt in Limpopo.
In a statement, President Ramaphosa said the incident is a tragedy, saying his thoughts and those of the country are with the families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, while he wishes the dozens of injured persons a full and speedy recovery.
He noted with sadness that the incident took place during South Africa’s Transport Month, where his government places a special focus on the importance of safety on the country’s roads.
Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to South Africa, David Hamadziripi, alongside South Africa’s Minister of Transport, Honourable Barbara Crecy, are expected to visit the scene to assess the situation.
