TWO long-distance bus drivers have been arrested in Mashonaland West following a significant seizure of dangerous drugs along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway.
Zimbabwe Republic Police(ZRP) Mashonaland West spokesperson, Inspector Ian Kohwera, confirmed that detectives from CID Karoi pounced on the suspects, Cletos Mutavu (43), and Luckmore Farai (43), after receiving a tip-off that their bus, operated by Mandeep Ndomboya Logistics Bus Company, was carrying contraband.
Police have applauded members of the public for providing information that led to the recovery of the drugs and the subsequent arrests.
Inspector Kohwera added that efforts are underway to track down two conductors who fled from the scene, and he appealed to the public for any information that may assist investigations.
The arrested drivers are expected to appear in court soon.
