A delegation led by Pan African Parliament (PAP) President, Chief Fortune Charumbira met Kenyan President William Ruto, who is also the Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Institutional Reforms at state house in Nairobi, Kenya this Tuesday to discuss the reform agenda in relation to PAP.
After presenting a paper on the reform agenda, which includes PAP’s oversight role on the AU, President Ruto pledged to ensure the continental parliament plays its part in connecting the AU to the citizenry.
They also agreed that PAP should conduct oversight on all AU Organs, including overseeing the continental body’s budget.
Chief Charumbira’s delegation included the PAP 3rd vice president, Honourable Lucia Dos Passos, chairperson of the Western Caucus Honourable Alhagie Mbow, chairperson of the PAP Rules Committee, Honourable Steven Mikaya and PAP legislators from Kenya.
