GWERU-BASED Premier Soccer League side TelOne have appointed veteran coach Saul Chaminuka as their new head coach.
Chaminuka takes over from Herbert Maruwa, who parted ways with the club last week following a run of poor results.
The experienced tactician arrives with an immediate mandate, to steer the Wifi Boys away from early relegation concerns. TelOne currently sit 16th in the 18-team Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standings, with 16 points from 10 matches.
Despite their struggles, the team heads into a new chapter on a positive note after securing their first win of the season, a 2–1 victory over Triangle at Gibbo Stadium last week.
Club president Oscah Nduwure confirmed the appointment, expressing confidence that Chaminuka’s experience will bring stability to the side.
Chaminuka’s first test will be a high-stakes Midlands derby against in-form Hardrock at Ascot Stadium this Saturday.
A seasoned figure in Zimbabwean football, Chaminuka has previously coached several clubs, including Buffaloes, Black Rhinos, ZPC Kariba, Green Fuel, Kwekwe United and Dynamos.
