A 19-year-old man from Mutare has been slapped with a 15-year jail sentence for repeatedly raping his 10-year-old niece in 2023.
The 19-year-old (whose name has been withheld to protect the identity of the minor) was convicted of raping his niece whom he was staying with after the death of her parents.
The court heard that the convict would rape the complainant during the absence of her aunt.
The complainant did not immediately report her ordeal due to fear and shame.
