NEWLY crowned Miss Tourism Zimbabwe, Zanele Moyo, has pledged to take the country’s story to the global stage, positioning tourism and cultural identity at the centre of her reign.

The 22-year-old from Bulawayo emerged the winner at the weekend, standing out among 15 contestants in a competition that tested not only beauty, but purpose and national pride.

Speaking after her victory, Moyo said she is already expanding her flagship initiative, Discover Bulawayo, as part of efforts to reshape global perceptions of Zimbabwe.

“Miss Tourism Zimbabwe): It is such a great honour, and right now we are expanding our project, Discover Bulawayo, with initiatives to ensure that Zimbabwe is seen by the world and that we tell our stories the way we want them to be told,” she said.

Moyo described the journey to the crown as both demanding and transformative.

“It was such a tough experience, but I am proud that I managed to conquer that phase of my life,” she said.

With her focus now shifting beyond the national stage, Moyo said her mandate goes beyond representation to active advocacy for the tourism sector.

“I am very proud to be representing my country, Zimbabwe, at Miss Tourism International in China. I am willing to uphold my responsibilities and ensure that I become a worthy representative for the country,” she said.
