THE Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development, and Vocational Training is in the process of formalising a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CZA Church to collaborate on advancing youth development initiatives in Mashonaland Central province.
This came out when a delegation from the ministry led by the Deputy Minister, Honourable Kudakwashe Mupamhanga held a meeting with church leaders in Goora, Madziwa this Tuesday.
The CZA Church has been actively involved in training and upskilling youths in Mashonaland Central Province, particularly at their headquarters at Goora, Mt. Darwin South Constituency.
The church’s initiatives feeds into the rebranded Youth Service Zimbabwe programme which aims to create patriotic youths who are of service to their localities and the nation.
Last year, CZA rolled out 70 graduates in carpentry, plumbing, electricals and building among other vocational skills, trained by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development, and Vocational Training trainers.
The class of 2024 managed to construct a classroom block and were the pilot users of the CZA’s newly procured brick-making machine which is central to their operations.
Further collaboration between the ministry and CZA Church is expected to increase training capacity, increase enrollment and result in more youths being capacitated with an improved quality of skills.
