MINISTER of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr Zhemu Soda on Thursday toured Bikita Minerals to assess progress in lithium production and value addition.
Leading a media tour comprising journalists from various media organisations, Dr Soda toured the mine’s processing plant to gain first-hand insight into its operations.
During the visit, mine management briefed the delegation on production levels, safety standards and ongoing investments in beneficiation aimed at producing lithium concentrates for the global market.
Dr Soda said Bikita Minerals exemplifies the country’s drive to maximise value from its mineral resources through beneficiation, creating employment opportunities and increasing export earnings.
The tour also highlighted the mine’s continued expansion, with Bikita Minerals having invested more than US$300 million since 2022 to increase production capacity and upgrade its infrastructure.
