THE loot stolen during the armed robbery at Alpha Omega Farm in Marondera, owned by the in-laws of businessman Wicknell Chivhayo, was reportedly spent on residential stands, motor vehicles, building materials, household goods, and foodstuffs, according to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).

The robbery, which saw the thieves make off with US$74,000, has now led to the arrest of four more suspects, bringing the total number of people in custody to eight.

Temptation Gerald Dinhidza (44), Tawanda Mushawatu (45), Arnold Tafireyi (38), and Mike Mhaka (45) were arrested following a tip-off received by the ZRP earlier this week.

The police tracked Dinhidza down and arrested him near Seke High School in Chitungwiza on Thursday.

During questioning, Dinhidza allegedly implicated three other individuals, leading to further searches of their premises.

These searches resulted in the recovery of US$1 700 in cash, two firearms, and live rounds of ammunition.
