DAY Two of the national pre-budget seminar is underway, entering a decisive stage as line ministries begin engaging directly with the outcomes and recommendations emerging from the extensive national consultations.
This phase marks a shift from broad stakeholder dialogue to detailed government responses, laying the groundwork for the formulation of the forthcoming national budget framework.
The focus of this Thursday’s deliberations is on marrying the aspirations and challenges raised by communities and sectoral representatives with the government’s fiscal realities and developmental agenda, as articulated in the National Development Strategy One (NDS1).
Legislators, economists and policy experts have emphasised the importance of aligning fiscal measures with citizens’ needs and ensuring that budget allocations translate into tangible development outcomes.
