Lady Chevrons eye World Cup Qualification

THE Zimbabwe women’s cricket team, the Lady Chevrons will get their International Cricket Council ICC )T20 World Cup Qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates with a date against minnows Vanuatu on the 25th of this month.

After years of hard work and determination, the Lady Chevrons are on a quest to make their World Cup dream a reality.

The journey began on a fruitful note after they qualified in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier having made it through the Africa Qualifier.

The roadmap did not end there as Zimbabwe recently won the One Day International(ODI)and T20 series against Papua New Guinea, which has given them a massive confidence boost.

The ladies’ troop into camp this Thursday is aware of their first opponents at the Qualifiers after the fixtures were released this Wednesday.

The Lady Chevrons were drawn in Group B alongside hosts United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Ireland, and Vanuatu.

They will face Vanuatu on the 25th of this month before locking horns with the United Arab Emirates two days later.

The third assignment will be on the 29th against Ireland before they take on the Netherlands on the 1st of May.

The global qualifiers will run from the 25th of this month to the 7th of May.

Zimbabwe is among ten countries vying for the remaining two slots at the ICC T20 World Cup to be hosted by Bangladesh between September and October.
