THE two-day KCD Mohadi sports tournament kicked off at Phelandaba in Gwanda this Saturday, with twelve teams from Matabeleland South province participating.
Dubbed KCD Mohadi Sports tournament in honour of the country’s Vice President and ZANU PF’s Second Secretary, Cde Kembo Mohadi, the sports fiesta kicked off on a high note with 12 constituency drawn teams registering their presence with sterling performances.
ZANU PF Youth League chairperson for Matabeleland South Province, Cde Moses Langa said the tournament has brought about unity among the youths, words also echoed by the ZANU PF Matabeleland South Provincial Chairperson, Cde Mangaliso Ndlovu.
“Our message is still the same, we say no to drug and substance abuse. We organised this tournament to honour the VP and we are happy with the turn out,” said Cde Langa.
“The turnout is impressive, we have organisations that have come and hammering the message to stop the drug and substance menace. We wish to have this tournament every year,” added Cde Ndlovu.
12 football and netball teams are battling out at the inaugural tournament.
