In Loving Memory of Our Patriarch and Stalwart
Lakayana Keith Chabaka Duve (The Duke of Chibi “Museyamwa, Mhofu Yomukono”)

It is with deep sorrow, reverence, and profound gratitude for a life well lived that the Vazukuru Vokwa Mukungunugwa Foundation (VVMF) and the Duve family announce the passing of Lakayana Keith Chabaka Duve, affectionately and honorably known as The Duke of Chibi Museyamwa, Mhofu Yomukono.

Early Life & Education Born into the proud Duve lineage, Lakayana’s life was rooted in family values, discipline, and service.

He pursued his formative education at Mukotosi Primary School, Chibi , later excelling at Dadaya and Goromonzi High School. His thirst for knowledge led him to university, where he refined the intellectual depth and leadership qualities that would mark his remarkable journey.

Distinguished Career in Education & Public Service
A true servant-leader, Mr. Duve’s professional journey was illustrious:
Educator & Administrator: Served as teacher, Deputy Head, and Head at several institutions.

Trailblazer: First headmaster in Zimbabwe to erect a durawall around a Harare school while at Glen Norah 1 High School.
Head: Victoria High School, Masvingo.
Senior Leadership in Education: Rose to Deputy Regional Director Masvingo and later
Regional Director of Education Mashonaland Central.
National Service: Served as Principal Inspector General in the Public Service, before
becoming Personal Press Secretary to the late Vice President, Dr. Simon Vengai Muzenda.
Government Service: Appointed Acting Permanent Secretary.
Governance & Oversight: Served as Commissioner of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption
Commission (ZACC).

Higher Education: Sat as Board Member of Mlezu Agricultural College and lectured at the
Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU).
Legacy of Philanthropy
Beyond titles and accolades, Mr. Duve was a philanthropist par excellence — investing his time, resources, and wisdom in the upliftment of family, community, and nation. His generosity of spirit leaves a trail of empowered lives and strengthened institutions.

Family He is survived by his beloved children five in total: three sons Jabulani, Tsungai,Munyaradzi,two daughters Sonia and Tanaka and six cherished grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of faith, dignity, and service.

Our Patriarch Remembered
To us, he was more than titles; he was our shield, our guide, our Duke. He carried the mantle of leadership with unmatched humility, wisdom, and courage. His life exemplified the truth of Psalm 133:
“How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity.”
Final Resting Place
Our beloved Lakayana Keith Chabaka Duve – The Duke of Chibi, Museyamwa, Mhofu
Yomukono will be laid to rest among his own at the Duve Homestead, Mukotosi, Chivi, on
Sunday morning, 5 October 2025.
Closing Tribute
Today, we mourn his passing, but we also celebrate a life of rare distinction. His was a journey of excellence, of service, and of love for family and country. His name The Duke of Chibi will forever inspire strength, vision, and unity in the generations to come.
