Cheetahs depart for Mauritius ahead of Rugby Africa Sevens Cup

ZIMBABWE’s national sevens side, the Cheetahs, have left the country for Mauritius, where they are set to participate in the 2025 Rugby Africa Sevens Cup, scheduled to run from the 21st to the 22nd in Port Louis.

The Cheetahs squad is headlined by Sharks flanker Blithe Mavesere who is coming off an impressive season in South Africa and the United Rugby Championship.

He will be joined by fellow professionals in tear-away, back-rowers Tapiwa Mufura and Brandon Mudzekenyedzi.

Cheetahs head coach Ricky Chirengende has also kept the core of the squad by retaining Godfrey Magaramombe, Ryan Musimhi, Tapiwa Malenga, and Carlos Matematema.
