AUSTRALIA are set to tour Zimbabwe for the first time in 12 years, with a three-match One Day International (ODI) series scheduled for next year.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the Australians will play the ODI series in Harare before proceeding to South Africa.
Zimbabwe Cricket had hoped to include a one-off Test match, but Australia’s congested international calendar means the tour will feature ODIs only.
The series forms part of Zimbabwe’s preparations for the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup, which the country will co-host.
Relations with Australia and England have significantly improved through sports diplomacy in recent years. The Chevrons toured England last year for the first time in more than two decades, while English county sides have visited Zimbabwe for pre-season training over the past three seasons.
