SCORES of delegates have arrived in Bulawayo ahead of the official opening of the ruling ZANU PF Annual National People`s Conference at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre this Friday.
The highly anticipated conference is expected to draw over 4 000 delegates, including diplomats, chiefs, service chiefs, government ministers, and senior party officials.
“We have been received well and the processes have shown a high level of organisation which is commendable,” said a delegate
“We are so happy to be in Bulawayo, the reception has been amazing and we look forward to fruitful deliberations,” added another.
Senior party officials who were at the venue to oversee the final touches reiterated that the conference provides an opportunity for constructive discussions setting the tone for Zimbabwe`s future development.
“We are excited as Bulawayo to host this event and the stage is set for the conference, which will be a platform for nation building,” said Bulawayo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Judith Ncube.
Minister of Local Government & Public Works, Honourable July Moyo added, “All preparations have been done and we are ready for a smooth flow of proceedings, no one will go hungry, accommodation is sorted and logistics have been sorted.”
Security and logistics are in place to ensure a smooth conference which will be held under the theme “Industrialise and Modernise Towards the Attainment of Vision 2030”, reflecting the ruling party’s focus on economic growth and development.
