ZIMBABWEAN nationals returning from South Africa continue to receive Government support, with thousands successfully processed through Beitbridge Border Post as authorities intensify efforts to ensure their safe and dignified repatriation.
The repatriation of Zimbabwean nationals from South Africa through the Beitbridge Border Post is progressing well, as the government guarantees the safe return of its citizens.
“The good thing about our government is that it allowed us to bring our goods home that will help us to have a starting point when we get home,” a returning citizen said.
“We are very grateful to our government for bringing buses to ferry us home with our goods. We are now at the border, having been helped by the government to be safely repatriated,” another stated.
Zimbabwe and South African officials are working round the clock to ensure the repatriation is smooth.
“We are here to make sure that the whole process moves smoothly and people are repatriated with dignity as we work as a team,” South Africa’s Deputy Minister of Police, Miss Polly Boshielo noted.
“We are working with our counterparts to make sure everything goes smoothly and everyone is cooperating. You realise that we are also processing nationals from other countries like Malawi,” Zimbabwe’s Regional Immigration Officer, Mr Joshua Chibundu said.
To ensure a seamless repatriation process, government has since deployed an inter-ministerial team to the border town.
