ASHLEY Miller Kamangira has secured Zimbabwe’s first medal at the ongoing African Athletics Championships after winning silver in the women’s 100 metres hurdles.
Kamangira finished second behind Nigerian world record holder Tobi Amusan, earning her second consecutive continental silver medal following a similar runners-up finish at the African Games.
Meanwhile, Tapiwa Makarawu has progressed to the men’s 100 metres final after finishing second in his semi-final heat.
In other results, Dennis Hove, Thandazani Ndlovu and Leeford Zuze have all booked places in the men’s 400 metres final, as Zimbabwe’s campaign gathers momentum at the continental showpiece.
