HIGHLANDERS benefactor Wicknell Chivayo has confirmed the immediate disbursement of US$500 000 to the Bulawayo giants, fulfilling a US$1 million sponsorship commitment to the club.
The latest financial release, which follows an earlier injection that included the purchase of a team bus, is aimed at enhancing player welfare, recruitment and overall competitiveness as the Highlanders gear up for the 2026 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.
In recognition of Bosso’s one-nil victory over arch-rivals Dynamos, Chivayo also unveiled luxury vehicles for the club’s technical team, executive leadership and club legend Madinda Ndlovu.
Beneficiaries of the sponsorship include head coach Benjani Mwaruwari, chairperson Luke Mnkandla and CEO Denzil Mnkandla.
Chivayo said the backing is intended to provide stability, motivation, and strong results, as Highlanders target a return to the top of Zimbabwean domestic football in 2026.
