Upgraded Beitbridge Border Post boosts efficiency, enhances traveller experience

THE upgraded Beitbridge Border Post has significantly improved efficiency for travellers and traffic flow, raising expectations of increased tourist arrivals into the country.

Tourists and Zimbabweans returning home for the festive season through the border post on Sunday were accorded a warm and memorable welcome, made possible by the facility’s modern infrastructure and enhanced services.

“When you are out there, people say a lot of things about Zimbabwe, only to realise that people are really enjoying going through this border,” a traveller said.

“It is good to be welcomed in your country from abroad, this really means a lot to us as citizens and even our tourists,” a returning local resident,

“When I go back where I stay, I will share what I have experienced here so that others can really know that Zimbabwe is a good country,” another tourist said.

During her Meet and Greet Programme this Sunday, the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Honourable Barbra Rwodzi, highlighted the efficiency of the new Beitbridge Border Post.

“We are here to use the whole government approach and assist our colleagues to make sure there is efficiency for the crossing public and tourists, making sure we welcome them in the proper way. The systems installed here have improved efficiency in a big way. So we thank the President through the relevant ministries for a job well done in this border area, everything is moving on smoothly for the travellers. So we are happy as the Ministry of Tourism because we want people to come and enjoy in Zimbabwe,” she said.

“I was given the national cloth by the Minister, and this really defined my festive because I will arrive home a happy person,” a tourist said.
