A delegation from Geo Pomona Waste Management, Zimbabwe’s entity responsible for developing sustainable environmental solutions, is in Belgium on a working visit aimed at strengthening global best practices in waste management.
The delegation led by Geo Pomona, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman, Dr Dilesh Nguwaya, is on a working visit to Ecosteryl Environmental Solutions in Mons, Belgium.
Accompanying the delegation is Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the Mission in Belgium, Mrs Angelica Katuruza.
After holding high-level discussions, Executives of the two firms resolved to forge partnerships.
“I am very happy I am here in Belgium, looking for a partnership with Ecosterly for a medical waste treatment plant. This plant will help the Government of Zimbabwe and the people of Zimbabwe to treat their medical waste. It is very important to have this type of machine so that everyone can live in a good environment. This type of machine is recognised internationally,” Dr Nguwaya said.
“So for us as the President of the Ecosteryl company, it was an honour and a pleasure to welcome Dr Dilesh and his team, the best and number one company in Zimbabwe for the treatment of waste, to show them our know-how and share our experiences and realise that this partnership has a bright future to offer to the community of Zimbabwe,” president, Ecosteryl, Environmental Solutions, Mr Olivier Dufrasne said.
The visit includes a guided tour of Ecosteryl’s equipment assembly facility used in the safe and environmentally friendly waste management systems.
The Zimbabwean delegation also paid a courtesy call on Mons Mayor, Mr Nicolas Martin, for further engagements with the European Union nation.
The visit is also in line with Geo Pomona’s efforts to align with global best practices.
