PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa on Monday met four newly appointed ambassadors at State House as they prepare to take up key diplomatic postings in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Cuba.
The meeting served as a formal briefing session, allowing the President to outline Zimbabwe’s foreign policy priorities and expectations as the envoys assume their missions.
The diplomats are expected to advance the country’s engagement and re-engagement drive, which is anchored on the “enemy to none and friend to all” philosophy.
Ambassador David Hamadziripi has been assigned to the United States of America, while Isaac Moyo will represent Zimbabwe in the United Arab Emirates. Lovemore Mazemo has been posted to South Africa and Patrick Mutasa will serve as Ambassador to Cuba.
The newly appointed envoys play a critical role in strengthening political, economic and cultural ties, attracting investment and promoting Zimbabwe’s strategic interests abroad.
