THE Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) has committed to widening its humanitarian footprint, pledging to scale up support for underserved communities through expanded investment in clinics, schools and social welfare infrastructure.
As the year 2025 draws to a close, the Air Force of Zimbabwe seized the opportunity to engage with stakeholders on Friday at Manyame Air Force Base during a Sundowner event, a platform to reflect on the year’s milestones, strengthen partnerships, and chart a path for future collaboration.
Guest of Honour and Commander AFZ, Air Marshal Jacob John Nzvede, used the occasion to outline plans for expanding support to underserved communities through the Commander AFZ Charity Fund.
“Looking ahead, we hope that we will be able to complete Malibeng Clinic and other ongoing projects in 2026. These include Mandizha Clinic in Rusape and an administration block at Simuchembu Secondary School in Gokwe. These projects could not be completed as scheduled due to limited resources, which we source through donations from our willing partners,” he said.
The event attracted players from the corporate sector who pledged continued support.
“We are proud to be part of the AFZ Charity Fund initiatives. As a company, we will continue to support their efforts to uplift communities,” Kariba Bricks, Dr Alex Marange noted.
“The AFZ has shown true commitment to humanitarian work. We stand ready to walk this journey with them, making a difference where it matters most,” PR Manager, Moonlight Funeral Assurance, Mrs Noway Museba said.
“Supporting the AFZ’s charity work is a cause we deeply believe in. We will keep lending a hand to ensure more lives are transformed,” Operations Manager-Route Direct, Thomas Takavada added.
Since its inception, the AFZ Charity Fund has implemented numerous projects and programmes targeting education, healthcare, and social welfare needs.
