VICE President Colonel (Rtd) Dr Kembo Mohadi has urged authorities to prioritise modern, inclusive infrastructure as the backbone of Zimbabwe’s development agenda, saying investments in education facilities must support the country’s long-term growth.
He made the remarks in Beitbridge on Saturday while commissioning a new 14-classroom double-storey block at Beitbridge Government Primary School, a project that reflects the Second Republic’s continued focus on upgrading public infrastructure across all provinces.
Addressing teachers, parents and local leaders, Dr Mohadi said the facility is aligned with national education goals aimed at creating safe and supportive learning environments.
“Our achievements as government also advance millennium development goals, particularly quality education and well-ventilated classroom blocks encompass inclusive learning,” he said.
He further emphasised that modern school infrastructure plays a critical role in improving learner participation and academic outcomes, particularly for girls.
“Our schools promote gender equality, that is a safe space that encourages girls’ participation in STEM and this improved infrastructure promotes attendance and performance. This double-storey used land sufficiently, and we will continue with teacher capacitation,” Dr Mohadi added.
Zimbabwe is forging ahead with massive infrastructure developments in line with the mantra ‘leaving no one and no place behind.’
