The final term of the 2025 school calendar opened this Tuesday, with the provision of critical education infrastructure taking centre stage.
At Batanai Primary School in Harare’s Mabvuku suburb, Early Childhood Development (ECD) learners stepped into newly constructed classrooms built under the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) Community Assistance Programme. The development has been hailed as a testament to the strong partnership between the military and civilian sectors in advancing national development.
Batanai Primary School Deputy Head, Mr Alfred Mhlanga, commended the initiative, saying the new infrastructure had brought a major transformation to the learning environment.
Across the capital, schools were a hive of activity as learners returned for the third and final academic term, with examination classes now focused on preparing for Grade Seven, Ordinary Level and Advanced Level finals.
