HARARE-STAKEHOLDERS in the justice delivery system have pledged to collaborate in ensuring justice is delivered swiftly and efficiently to the citizenry through supporting implementation of the Fast Track Court System.
A preparatory engagement was held in Harare ahead of the launch of the Fast Track Court System aimed at expediting the handling of specific cases, particularly those involving vulnerable groups and urgent matters.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders in the justice delivery sector for a comprehensive training session aimed at equipping them with the necessary skills to effectively administer the new system.
“We are ready to support the implementation of the FastTrack Court System. This will go a long way in reducing crime rate in the country,” Prosecutor General, Justice Loyce Matanda-Moyo said.
“As the Zimbabwe Republic Police, we welcome the implementation of the FastTrack Court System as it will help in fighting crime. As the nation forges ahead to achieve its vision, it requires us to be crime free. As the ZRP, we have already put in place mechanisms for the smooth flow of the FastTrack Court System. We remain alive to the reality, and we are ready,” ZRP Deputy Commissioner General Crime and Operations, Learn Ncube said.
“We are determined and ready to carry our part. We will ensure that inmates are transported on time without any difficulties and with dignity. The introduction of FastTrack Court System is a step in the right direction meant to enhance Justice delivery system in the country,” ZPCS Deputy Commissioner General for Production and Business Management, Deputy Commissioner General Social Ndanga said.

We are confident that the introduction of this initiative will remove the perception that ZACC it is a catch and release entity. We are committed to ensure the smooth of the FastTrack Court System,” ZACC Commissioner, Commissioner Rumbidzai Zvimba said.
Chief Justice Luke Malaba outlined the scope of the FastTrack Court System.
“We must treat the citizenry with the urgency and respect they deserve. People are demanding swift justice, and we must deliver on that expectation. Justice brings an end to pain and suffering, delayed justice is denied justice. The Fast Track Court System is a key tool for delivering justice efficiently and promptly. However, its success depends entirely on those within the justice delivery chain.
“You the officers of the court, law enforcement, and judicial administrators are the ones responsible for turning this vision into reality. It is your dedication and coordination that will ensure the Fast Track Courts serve their purpose. As public concerns about safety and justice grow, we must rise to the challenge. Where there is justice, there is peace. Where there is order, there is national stability. That is why we continue to build courts and strengthen our law enforcement systems to restore confidence and uphold the rule of law,” Chief Justice, Luke Malaba said.
The Fast Track Court System is a judicial innovation aimed at enhancing the efficiency and responsiveness of the justice delivery system, with focus on speeding up the handling and resolution of cases.
